Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Assures Overall Devp Of Karbi Anglong

DIPHU, June 2: Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma continued campaigning in Karbi Anglong for the upcoming elections to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) on Thursday.

The CM campaigned for BJP candidate of Dhansiri MAC constituency Tilottama Hasnu at Dhansiri Higher Secondary School.

In a poll rally, Sarma said, “Instead of protest, strike, the people of Karbi Anglong are now moving forward in the path of development with community coordination. Importance will be given to the overall development of Karbi Anglong in education, health, road, etc.”

The rally was also attended by minister Pijush Hazarika, chief executive member of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang, MLAs Bidya Sing Ingleng and Nandita Garlosa, chief of Gorkha Parishad, Ganesh Limbu.

Minister of Power, Sports & Youth Welfare, Cultural affairs and Tourism, Bimal Borah campaigned for 11 Langpher MAC constituency, BJP candidate, Madhuram Lekthe at Longsekjan Puja Mandap premises on Thursday, seven kilometers from Bakaliaghat town.

Probhari election campaigner for BJP in Karbi Anglong, Bijay Kr Gupta, MLA Barhampur, Jitu Goswami; BJP candidate Madhuram Lekthe, Ex MAC, Kangjang Terang; president of Hindi Bhashi Chhatra Sanstha, Radheshyam Chauhan and others were present in the meeting.

Deputy Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, Dr Numal Momin attended a BJP campaign tally for party candidate Kadom Terangpi of Sarupathar MAC constituency at Balipathar in Karbi Anglong.

At the campaign meeting, 45 workers of United Democratic Forum Sarupathar (UDFS) led by Semion Rongphar joined the ruling party.

On the other hand, president of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, Bhupen Bora, president of Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee, Sum Ronghang and others campaigned for Langpher Congress candidate, Purnima Ronghangpi at Aatigaon Naamghar and Sikaripather Naamghar premises.

The state Congress chief also campaigned at Disobai for its party candidate Prodip Singnar.
