‘Clean Sootea, Green Sootea’ mission organised

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Dec 28: A ‘Clean Sootea, Green Sootea’ mission was carried out by Chatia College in active collaboration with the students’ union of the college on Wednesday, with an aim to make people aware of adverse effects of pollution and importance of clean and green environment.
Chatia College, the only educational institution of higher education at the greater Sootea area has been working continuously for protecting natural greenery and to maintain ecological balance.
The college unit planted saplings in public places for five years. This time, the college authority has undertaken a mission ‘Clean Sootea, Green Sootea’ to make the natural environment clean and green. As a part of this mission, the students’ union and teachers’ unit had conducted a plantation and cleanliness drive at Niz Sootea HS campus, Borduwa Bill, Chatial Chuk, Rahdhar Gaon, Karati Gaon beside other places on Tuesday.
Similarly, the college unit conducted cleanliness and plantation drives at LB Road, the office premises of Naduar Revenue Circle, Sootea police station, Sootea Weekly Market, Sootea State Veterinary along with other places on Wednesday. The conscious people of the area praised the timely initiative taken by Chatia College.
