DIBRUGARH, Jan 24: Financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) was extended to 94 patients from the Dibrugarh Legislative Assembly Constituency on Saturday, with Assam Power Minister and local MLA Prasanta Phukan handing over the cheques at his residence office.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Phukan said the support was aimed at reducing the financial strain on patients and their families during periods of serious medical treatment.
He noted that timely financial help often plays a crucial role in ensuring uninterrupted healthcare for those facing critical illnesses.
The minister thanked chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for earmarking Rs 1 crore for each Assembly constituency under the CMRF.
He added that the initiative has already provided assistance to over 500 people in the Dibrugarh constituency.
The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is designed to provide immediate monetary support to patients across Assam who are burdened with urgent and critical medical expenses, helping them access necessary treatment without delay.
