MANGALDAI, April 27: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Darrang in connection with the celebration of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organised a ‘Kisan Mela’ at its Gelaidingi campus on Tuesday. The farmers fair aimed at bringing new knowledge for the farmers about the application of the new agri-technologies and also facilitating a market linkage of their farm products. The day-long programme featured an exhibition of the farm products with the participation of different FPCs, SHGs, line departments and individuals, an interactive session between farmers and the agri-scientists and a ceremonial inaugural session. The inaugural ceremony began with the explanation of the objectives of the fair as efforts to bring technologies from lab to land by the head of KVK, Darrang Dr Abdul Hafiz, and was attended by district development commissioner Subhalaxmi Deka, superintendent of police Raj Mohan Ray, chairman of the Assam Fishery Development Corporation Gurujyoti Das, district agriculture officer Jyotish Ch Nath and others.
