MARGHERITA, Jan 8: Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma on Wednesday inaugurated multiple development schemes under Margherita Municipal Board.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Margherita Municipal Board office, in the presence of key officials and local leaders.
Speaking on the occasion Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma announced that a total of 30 development schemes have been launched, funded under the 15th Central Finance Commission and the 6th State Finance Commission, with a combined budget allocation of ₹1.17 crore as these initiatives aim to improve infrastructure, including the construction and repair of drains,roads and sub-roads across of all 10 wards under the Margherita Municipal boards jurisdiction.
Margherita Municipal Board Chairman Anand Kumar Sharma highlighted the comprehensive nature of the projects, emphasising their potential to enhance the quality of life for residents.
In his address, Bhaskar Sharma urged citizens to actively participate in efforts to make Margherita a clean and beautiful town and he expressed gratitude to both the Union and Assam governments for their support in driving the region’s development forward.
Prominent attendees included Margherita Municipal Board executive officer Dhiraj Bhattacharjee, Chairman Anand Kumar Sharma, BJP presidents from Margherita Sadar, Block and Town mandals as well as 10 ward commissioners of Margherita Municipal Board and a significant number of residents.
