BISWANATH CHARIALI, Nov 1: The Employment Exchange, Biswanath, organised a District-Level Career Counselling and Vocational Guidance Programme under the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training of the Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Assam, at the auditorium of Biswanath College of Agriculture on Saturday.
The event was graced by Promod Borthakur, MLA of Biswanath LAC, Dr Ranjan Kalita, Principal of Rangapara College, Prankrishna Tamooli, Centre-in-Charge of NIELIT Tezpur, Dr Ranendra Nath Barman, Associate Dean of BNCA, Sandeep Devnath, Lead District Manager of Indian Bank, Biswanath, Brazendra Das, Assistant Employment Officer, Santanu Shekhar Saikia, Young Professional under the NCS Project, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Dr Rajib Narayan Kalita, District Project Manager of Assam Skill Development Mission, Biswanath and Hemanta Saikia, District Project Manager of Assam Skill Development Mission, Sonitpur.

More than 300 students from Higher Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges, ITIs and Polytechnic institutions across the district participated in the programme. It served as an important platform for students to gain practical knowledge about career planning, skill enhancement and employment opportunities.
Speakers discussed opportunities across various sectors and avenues for enrollment in professional institutes. They highlighted the importance of aligning career goals with skill development to promote entrepreneurship and self-reliance. The event also included discussions on financial assistance available through banking institutions.
An interactive Q&A session led by Santanu Shekhar Saikia under the NCS Project addressed students’ queries on career-related concerns. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Brazendra Das.
