Election to KSA regional committees conducted

DIPHU, Sept. 11: Election to four regional committees of Karbi
Students Association (KSA – Inglongpho) for the next two year
term 2023 to 2025 was conducted at their respective regional
committees on Monday. The four regional committees are
Diphu, Bokajan, Hamren and Howraghat. For Diphu regional
committee the election was conducted at KSA central executive
committee office here at Rongthe-ang.
Soon after the cast of votes was ended and counting of votes
took place. Announcing the result by the Polling Officer of the
Election Committee former general secretary, Budho Terang
announced that Out of 85 votes casted 5 were rejected.
Litonsing Timung got 49 votes and was elected for the post of
president, while Nelson Timung secured 31 votes and was
elected for the post of secretary. The members of 32 KSA
branches under Diphu regional committee casted their votes.
The remaining posts and executive members will be formed
later, Terang informed. Like Diphu, other regional committees
also conducted elections today, he said.
After declaring the result, the newly elected president and
secretary of Diphu regional committee Litonsing Timung and
Nelson expressed their desire to work for the cause of student’s
community and fight against various social issues.
