MARGHERITA, Sept 25: The Margherita and Digboi Excise Party conducted an excise search, patrolling, and raid over the weekend in various locations in Tinsukia district, Assam. The operation covered areas under Digboi Police Station and Margherita and Lekhapani Police Stations.

During the operation, a total of five cases were detected. The excise team seized and destroyed various items, including 10 liters of illicit distilled liquor, 90 liters of fermented wash, 1 DA set, 80 bottles of IMFL (14.4 BL intended for sale in Arunachal Pradesh), and 11 bottles of beer (5.5 BL intended for sale in Arunachal Pradesh).
Additionally, one person was apprehended under section 61(B)(a) of the Assam Excise Act (2000) as amended during the raid. The operation was aimed at curbing illegal alcohol production and distribution in the region.
