GUWAHATI, Dec 8: Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his anticipation to collaborate with the newly appointed Mizoram chief minister, Lalduhoma, for the advancement of the North-East region. Sarma extended his congratulations to the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) leader upon his swearing-in ceremony on Friday.
“Heartiest congratulations to Pu Lalduhoma on assuming office as the Chief Minister of Mizoram,” stated the CM in a message shared on X. Lalduhoma took the oath of office and secrecy administered by Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati in Aizawl.
“Wishing you a successful stint in advancing the state’s development and looking forward to working with you to build a prosperous & harmonious North East,” Sarma affirmed. The ZPM, established as a political party in 2019, secured victory in the Mizoram assembly elections by capturing 27 seats, a significant increase from the 8 seats obtained in the 2018 polls.
