KHERONI: Prem Bahadur Chetri, a resident of Cheng Cheng Bil in West Karbi Anglong, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the police regarding his daughter’s kidnapping case.
Chetri lodged an FIR at Kheroni police station on March 24, stating that his daughter Parvati Devi was abducted on the evening of March 23 by Jahir Hussain, son of Abdul Rashid from Langkajan Jamuna in Hojai district.
The police promptly registered a case (26 March Case No. 32/2023) under IPC sections 120 B/295/A/366/376/34 and initiated an investigation. They even extended their search to Kerala in an effort to locate the missing young woman and the alleged abductor. However, Chetri remains unsatisfied with the police’s efforts and has now sought the assistance of chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in finding his daughter.
The case continues to be under investigation, and the family hopes for a swift and successful resolution to the matter.
