HOWRAGHAT, Oct 29: A fire broke out at the Howraghat town in Karbi Anglong district in the wee hours of Sunday, razing three shops to the ground. However, no one was injured in the incident.
According to sources, the fire was suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit at around 2 am on Sunday.
A grocery shop belonging to Prodip Shah, wine shop of Madhav Bora, a jewellery shop and an electrical shop were reportedly damaged in the fire. The owners incurred huge losses as almost all goods were destroyed in the fire.
