GUWAHATI, Feb 27: A Health Awareness Camp was successfully organised on Friday at Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU), Khanapara, Guwahati. The programme was conducted by the Discipline of Social Work, Surya Kumar Bhuyan School of Social Sciences, KKHSOU in collaboration with Marwari Hospitals.
The camp aimed to promote health awareness and provide accessible medical consultation services to students, faculty members and the general public. The event began with a Cardio Awareness Talk hosted by Dr Mridusmita Duara. The keynote awareness session was delivered by Dr Kartik Jaiswal, Senior Cardiologist, who elaborated on the importance of cardiovascular health, early detection of heart-related ailments, preventive measures and lifestyle modifications.
The Vice Chancellor of KKHSOU, Prof Rajendra Prasad Das, highlighted the significance of organising such health initiatives within academic institutions to foster awareness and encourage a culture of preventive healthcare.
Following the awareness session, a health camp was conducted that included cardiology consultations, general medicine check-ups and the distribution of general medicines. A total of 110 individuals registered for the health check-up.
