Guwahati, Sept 26: Union minister of ports, shipping and waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday said the Union government is working on several talent enriching programmes to nurture young talents of the country.
The minister was in Guwahati to address a Rozgar Mela on Tuesday. Prime MInister Narendra Modi addressed Rozgar Melas in 46 locations across the country and virtually distributed about 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits. These recruits selected from across the country will be joining the department of posts, Indian audit and accounts department, department of atomic energy, department of revenue, department of higher education, ministry of defence, ministry of health and family welfare among others.
Addressing the Rozgar Mela Sonowal said, “India is standing at the cusp of greatness, as it continues to break shackles of its past economic, social and political depredation. It attempts to find itself a new, revitalized identity of a Bharat which is strong, confident, proud, considerate and inclusive. India has become the youngest talent factory in the world. To harness India’s rich talent pool, the government is working on different talent enriching programmes to incubate talent to become a reckoning force in the march towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
‘Start Up India’, ‘Digital India’, ‘PM Vishwakarma’, ‘Skill India Mission’, ‘Make In India’, ‘PM Mudra Yojna’, Rozgar Mela and many programmes have been introduced by the Union government to help generate employment for youths of the country.
“Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Modi ji, as many as 8 lakhs 18 thousands youths joined the government service via Rozgar Melas since its inception almost a year ago. Under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi ji, the effort has been to change the mindset of youth – from the role of job seekers to job creators. Self employment and entrepreneurship are becoming popular occupational choices. In the Start Up space, 2.60 lakh jobs were created in 2022 and over 9 lakh jobs created since 2017.”
The Union minister said that India has now become one of the most admired nations in the world since PM Narendra Modi. The presidency of G20 and its successful outcome through Leader’s Declaration, bringing in the African Union into the fold at India’s behest, exemplifying the true meaning of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ – One World, One Family, One Future – built its reputation as a ‘leader of global south’.
“Gone are those days when youths of the country had to fight the evil of corruption in the government job selection under Congress misrule. This evil has been systematically weeded out. Since 2014 our government has provided our youth with an honest option to become part of nation building through government jobs, based on merit. As you join the government and further the role of Karmayogis through your work on nation building, India aims to become a Vikashit Bharat by 2047.”
