GUWAHATI, Feb 28: The Br MSME-Development & Facilitation Office, Silchar, in collaboration with the District Industries & Commerce Centre, Dima Hasao, conducted an informative session on the PM Vishwakarma scheme at the District Library Auditorium Hall in Haflong on Wednesday. The event received the esteemed presence of Thai Tsho Daulagupu, ACS, principal secretary, NCHAC, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The PM Vishwakarma scheme, inaugurated on September 17, 2023, by the Prime Minister of India, aims to extend comprehensive support to artisans and craftspeople whose livelihoods revolve around manual skills and craftsmanship.
The primary goal is to bolster these traditional trades, which encompass a wide range of professions, including boat makers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, carpenters, masons, garland makers, among others. Beneficiaries of the scheme are entitled to receive e-vouchers worth Rs 15,000 upon completion of a 5-day basic training program. Additionally, trainees will receive a daily stipend of Rs 500 during the training period.
The awareness camp saw participation from assistant director in charge, M Dutta, Br MSME-DFO, along with officials, staff members, and members of the general public.
