DIPHU, Aug 4: In line with the nationwide observance of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Government of India has once again launched the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign for 2025, urging citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes between August 13 and 15.
The initiative aims to deepen citizens’ emotional connection with the Tricolour and promote a collective sense of national pride and unity, according to an official statement.
In Karbi Anglong district, the District Administration has begun extensive preparations to ensure widespread participation in the campaign.
A coordination meeting was convened at the District Conference Hall in Diphu on Sunday, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ankita Bora, ACS, where detailed instructions were issued to departments for effective implementation.
As per the official statement, the campaign will be executed in three phases, combining physical participation with digital engagement.
Citizens are encouraged to hoist the National Flag at their residences and also participate virtually by uploading selfies with the Tiranga on the official website www.harghartiranga.com and pinning digital flags.
ADC Ankita Bora instructed various departments to organise themed events across educational institutions.
These include quiz, drawing, and rangoli competitions based on the National Flag, setting up of selfie points, and implementation of tricolour lighting at all government offices.
The Department of Handloom and Textile has been tasked with promoting weaves and products incorporating the Tricolour theme. The Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM) will mobilise Self Help Groups (SHGs) to produce tricolour-themed decorative items such as garlands and diyas to add vibrancy to the campaign.
In a collaborative move, the Departments of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Jal Shakti, and Ministry of Culture will jointly carry out awareness drives in both urban and rural areas to reinforce the values of the campaign and increase its outreach.
Educational institutions and civil society groups have been urged to play a leading role in community mobilisation.
The administration has called on schools, colleges, NGOs, youth groups, and local organizations to ensure active participation and help make the campaign a mass movement. Officials noted that the 2025 edition of Har Ghar Tiranga builds on the overwhelming response from the past two years and is aimed at turning the National Flag into a daily symbol of active citizenship, unity in diversity, and collective patriotism.
