BOKAJAN: Acting on a tip-off, the police in Karbi Anglong recovered 1 kg of heroin. Led by the SDPO, Bokajan Sub-Division, Johan Das, a raid was carried out at Janakpukhuri, under Khatkhati police station.
In the raid, 85 soap cases containing 1 kg and 41 grams of heroin were recovered from the possession of two persons, the market value of which is Rs 8 crore. A woman and a man identified as Gracy Rova (38), wife of late Michael Rova, residents of Chingmai Senapari, Manipur, and Jain Prasad (28), son of Suklar Prasad, residents of Balijan United Village, under Khatkhati police station in Karbi Anglong, were arrested. A motorcycle bearing registration number NL 07 R 5574 was also seized, which was used for carrying the consignment. It is to be mentioned that the arrested woman, Gracy Rova, is one of the biggest suppliers of drugs. She operates an inter-state drug gang from Dimapur in Nagaland and Manipur.
