Karbi Anglong Police Seize Pistol In Bokajan

BOKAJAN, Dec 27: The Karbi Anglong police on Wednesday during a routine checking on National Highway (NH) 36 recovered a pistol along with two magazines and ammunitions.

The police intercepted a car at a police checking on NH 36 at Lahorijan petrol post under Dillai Police Station. After thoroughly checking the car a .36 mm pistol along with two magazines and 12 rounds of .36 mm ammunition was recovered along with Rs 2, 67,510 cash.

In connection with the matter, five have been arrested, identified as Md. Faruk Ahmed (26), resident of Ujan Tarapur, Ujan Tarapur, Cachar, Assam; Md Mufiz Uddin (32), resident of Uajan Tarapur, Lakhipur, Cachar, Assam; Badur Uddin (20), resident of UbanTarapur, Lakhipur police station, Cachar, Assam; Md Abdul Malik (41), resident of Monipur, Pt-II, Cachar, Assam and Abdul Sahid, resident of Lalang, Uzan Tarapur, Cachar, Assam.

A case has been registered and further investigation is going on.
