As part of its ongoing efforts to ensure safe and hygienic food for passengers, N. F. Railway plans to expand this initiative to more stations in the future. Rangiya, Tinsukia, Alipurduar Junction, and Katihar are among the stations being considered for ‘Eat Right Station’ certification, with the necessary preparations already underway. Guwahati Railway Station of N. F. Railway had previously received the ‘Eat Right Station’ certification, which is valid from June 2, 2023, to June 2, 2025.
The ‘Eat Right Station’ certification is bestowed by FSSAI to railway stations that consistently adhere to food storage and hygiene standards. It is awarded to stations that set exemplary standards in providing safe and wholesome food to passengers. The certification is the result of an audit conducted by a third-party agency accredited by FSSAI.
This certification is part of the ‘Eat Right India’ movement, a nationwide initiative by FSSAI aimed at transforming the food system in the country to ensure safe, healthy, and sustainable food for all Indians. It reflects the commitment of these railway stations to serving quality food to passengers.
