Guwahati, May 21: A man was apprehended with 23 vials of suspected heroin by the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police during a raid in Guwahati on Tuesday, according to official reports.
Based on reliable intelligence, the raid was conducted in the Koinadhara area under the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station. The STF acted promptly on the information, resulting in the arrest of a 33-year-old man, Mohammed Abul Sama. Originally from Buraburi village in the Morigaon district, Sama had been residing in Khanapara, Guwahati.
The operation led to the seizure of approximately 30.5 grams of suspected heroin, contained in 23 vials. Additionally, the authorities confiscated Rs 2,160 in cash and two mobile phones from Sama.
“The raid was executed based on credible input, and the suspect was apprehended with narcotics,” an official statement from the STF detailed. The apprehended individual is currently being processed for further legal action.
