MANGALDAI, Dec 22: Mangaldai MLA Basanta Das on Monday implemented three key programmes at Outala Higher Secondary School, including the inauguration of a boundary wall, the laying of a foundation stone for another boundary wall and the distribution of free bicycles to Class IX students under a state government scheme.
The MLA inaugurated a newly constructed boundary wall on one side of the school, built using MLA funds, and laid the foundation stone for an additional boundary wall on the eastern side of the campus.

The construction of the boundary wall has been prioritised as the school also functions as an examination centre for the HSLC and Higher Secondary final examinations.
He also inaugurated the distribution of free bicycles provided by the Assam Government to Class IX students, aimed at supporting regular attendance and easing access to education.
Addressing students at a meeting held on the occasion, Basanta Das said that the government is fully discharging the role of a guardian for students across the state.
“Just as parents are guardians in a home, the government is the guardian of students. All necessary facilities are being provided. Now it is the responsibility of students to study well, establish themselves and become responsible citizens who bring pride to the region,” he said.
The meeting, anchored by teacher Rakesh Sharma, was attended by school principal Kamal Prasad Sharma, local panchayat president Meera Rajbanshi, anchalik panchayat member Amarendra Deka and other local residents.
It was noted that, following the MLA’s appeal, all three programmes were completed during the recess period, ensuring that regular teaching activities were not disrupted.
