NAGAON, June 17: The Nagaon district administration has intensified preparations for the smooth and secure conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026, scheduled to be held on June 21.
District Commissioner Devashish Sarma, accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das, Additional Commissioner Gopal Sarma and Additional Superintendent of Police Rosey Talukdar, inspected examination centres and designated strong rooms across the district to review security and logistical arrangements.
The officials visited Nagaon University, Nagaon Girls’ College, Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College, Khagarijan College, Gopinath Dev Goswami Commerce College, PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya and other designated centres, including Kaliabor College.
During the inspection, the team reviewed examination halls, control room facilities and arrangements for the safe handling and storage of confidential examination materials.
Directions were issued to concerned authorities to ensure strict adherence to security protocols and the smooth conduct of the examination.
The officials also inspected strong rooms located in various banks where question papers and other confidential documents will be stored, assessing the security measures in place.
According to District Information and Public Relations Officer Bikash Sharma, a total of 4,829 candidates are expected to appear for the examination across seven centres in Nagaon district.
The District Commissioner stated that only candidates and authorised personnel will be allowed within a 100-metre radius of examination centres on the day of the test.
Candidates have been advised not to carry prohibited items and to bring only essential materials such as admit cards, valid identity proof, pens and pencils. The administration said all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure a fair, secure and hassle-free examination process for candidates.
