NAGAON, Dec 13: Dr Ananya Hazarika, a young achiever from Nagaon, has brought laurels to the town and the state by earning a PhD in Engineering from the prestigious Cleveland State University in the United States. A resident of Nagaon town, Dr Hazarika was awarded the doctoral degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering.
She completed her schooling from Dhing Christ Jyoti School and Nagaon Christ Jyoti School, before pursuing her B Tech from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong and MTech from IIT Guwahati. She joined Cleveland State University in August 2021 as a full-time PhD scholar and successfully completed her research in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Her research work has been published in several international journals and has received wide appreciation from the academic community. Dr Hazarika’s achievement reflects her dedication, perseverance and academic excellence.
Her parents, Tarun Hazarika and Banti Hazarika, expressed immense happiness over her success. Adding another feather to her cap, Dr Hazarika has been appointed as a senior researcher at Fujitsu, a multinational company.
The convocation ceremony was held on December 12, during which she formally received her PhD degree. She is scheduled to join her new professional role in Pittsburgh, USA, in the first week of January.
Dr Ananya Hazarika’s accomplishment has been widely appreciated by the people of Nagaon and Assam and stands as an inspiration for aspiring students across the state.
