KOKRAJHAR, Feb 2: The newly constructed building of Tamulpur Higher Secondary School was inaugurated on Monday as part of the state-wide launch of 67 new school buildings by chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The chief minister virtually inaugurated the building from Sonapur.
A programme to mark the occasion was held on the school premises at Tamulpur. District Commissioner Chimi Karan delivered the welcome address, followed by speeches from BTC deputy speaker Bijit Gwra Narzary, local MLA Jalen Daimary and the school’s principal, Bibhuti Deka.
The dignitaries later formally inaugurated the building by cutting the ribbon.
Constructed at a cost of ₹8 crore, the two-storey academic block comprises 17 classrooms, a smart classroom, a library and five laboratories, along with other supporting facilities aimed at improving the learning environment for students.
Teachers, students and staff of the institution were present during the programme, Public Relations Officer Vijay Bezbaruah informed.
