NFR to run 5 pairs of Holi special trains

GUWAHATI, Feb 8: In a bid to ensure smoother travel during the Holi festival, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will operate five pairs of special trains, part of Indian Railways’ broader plan to run 1,500 festive services this year. Last year, 1,144 special trains were operated across the country to meet increased passenger demand.

The Holi special trains will run on the following routes, each completing six trips in both directions: Narangi–Gorakhpur, Katihar–Amritsar, Dibrugarh–Jaynagar, New Jalpaiguri–Muzaffarpur and Kishanganj–Lalkuan. Key schedules include Narangi–Gorakhpur (05633), running Thursdays from February 19 to March 26, departing Narangi at 13:20 hrs, with the return train (05634) running Fridays from February 20 to March 27; Katihar–Amritsar (05736) Wednesdays from February 18 to March 25, with the return (05735) Fridays from February 20 to March 27; Dibrugarh–Jaynagar (05974) Tuesdays from February 17 to March 24, with the return (05973) Wednesdays from February 18 to March 25; New Jalpaiguri–Muzaffarpur (05740) Saturdays from February 21 to March 28, with the return (05739) on the same schedule and Kishanganj–Lalkuan (05741) Thursdays from February 19 to March 26, with the return (05742) Fridays from February 20 to March 27.

These services aim to connect key destinations, reduce congestion on regular trains and allow passengers to celebrate Holi safely and conveniently. Details of stoppages and timings are available on the IRCTC website and NFR’s official social media platforms. Passengers are advised to verify train details before travelling.
