GUWAHATI, Nov 16: The Northeast Frontier Railway (N.F. Railway) has achieved a remarkable feat by unloading 921 freight rakes during October 2024, ensuring the seamless supply of essential and other commodities across its jurisdiction.
Out of these, 534 rakes were unloaded in Assam, with 304 carrying essential goods. Tripura saw the unloading of 59 rakes, followed by Nagaland with 15, Arunachal Pradesh with 10, Manipur with 2, and Mizoram with 1. Additionally, 160 rakes were unloaded in West Bengal, and 140 in Bihar.
The efficient handling was made possible by speedy infrastructure development, advanced terminal facilities, and continuous monitoring, resulting in reduced turnaround times and enhanced unloading efficiency. This initiative has significantly contributed to the movement of vital commodities and the overall growth in freight transportation.
