Noted social worker Ramesh Beriwal passes away

HOJAI, July 28: Renowned businessman and dedicated social worker, Ramesh Beriwal (63), breathed his last on Thursday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Guwahati. He had been battling illness for the past few months. The news of his demise was met with sorrow and condolences from his well-wishers and family members.

On Friday at 11 am, a funeral procession was organised from his residence on Station Road in Hojai. Members of various organisations, including Adarsha Durga Puja Samity, Marwari Samellan, Marwari Panchayat, and Marwari Yuva Manch, came together to pay their respects and offer floral tributes in honour of his remarkable contributions to society.

Ramesh Beriwal was known for his unwavering dedication to social causes and was regarded as a religious, humble, and honest individual. His selfless work in various social initiatives left a lasting impact on the community he served. He was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him.

The final rites were performed at the Bhootnath Cremation ground, where his grieving son, Nikhil Beriwal, bid his father a tearful farewell with the ritual of ‘mukhagni’ (headfire). Ramesh Beriwal is survived by his wife, son, daughter, and a large extended family.
