NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati wins award in QCFI chapter convention held at Hyderabad

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 18: The quality circle team ‘Aqua Power’ of Chemistry department, NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati won the gold category award in QCFI chapter convention held at Hyderabad recently.

A total of 170 teams from different PSUs and private organisations participated in the convention held on Wednesday.

The team consisted of Shyamal Banerjee (facilitator), Apurbajyoti Das (leader), Jugal Medhi (deputy leader) and Anamika Dutta (member).

NTPC has expanded the concept of quality circles (QC) beyond the project plants and corporate structures. In alignment with NTPC’s firm belief that knowledge strengthens the community, more than 30 quality circles are actively operating in identifying various community problems and providing viable solutions, in various villages near its stations.

Quality circle members are given training on QC Techniques, communication skills and stage oration and encouraged to take part in state / national level quality circle competitions.

Meanwhile, as a part of NTPC, CSR-CD initiative, a health camp was conducted at Kathalguri No. 2 school nearby NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati in Kokrajhar. Around 100 children and ladies were checked upon by NTPC doctors and free medicines distributed to the beneficiaries as a part of the effort towards a healthy life.

This check-up which was general in nature which was done jointly by the CSR wing and NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati Hospital staff including doctors focused on general child and maternal health concerns.

NTPC Bongaigaon ensures sustainable power to all its stakeholders taking care of its nearby communities.
