NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati wins three prestigious awards at Tusker National Awards

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 1: NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati has achieved a remarkable feat by winning three prestigious awards at the 1st Tusker National Awards, organised by the Indo-Continental Trade and Entrepreneurship Promotion Council in Kozhikode, Kerala. The 750 MW power station secured honours in three categories, reflecting its commitment to excellence and innovation across diverse areas.

NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati was awarded Gold in the ‘Short Film Category’ for its compelling film on migratory birds, showcasing the station’s dedication to environmental sustainability and awareness. The power station also won Gold for its Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) Mentorship and Role Model Program 2024, recognising its impactful efforts in promoting education and empowerment among young girls.

Additionally, NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati received a Silver award for Excellence in Corporate Communication Initiatives across NTPC, highlighting its effective communication strategies and stakeholder engagement.

Om Narayan Singh, AGM (C&M), received the awards on behalf of NTPC Bongaigaon from P A Mohammed Riyas, minister of PWD and Tourism, government of Kerala, in the presence of Dr T Vinay Kumar, chairman, and K Ravindran, director, Corporate Partnership & Communication, Indo-Continental Trade and Entrepreneurship Promotion Council, during the ceremony held at Kozhikode.

Following the national recognition, the awards were presented to Akhilesh Singh, head of project, NTPC Bongaigaon, by Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operation), A M Chaudhury, AGM (C&I), and A K Singh, AGM (FM), in the presence of heads of departments (HODs) and senior executives including Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), Roshan Dungdung, DGM (HR), and Madhurjya S Lahkar, senior manager (HR-Corporate Communication), along with other employees executives of the station.

Expressing his gratitude, Akhilesh Singh congratulated the HR department and all employees for their outstanding contribution and concerted teamwork, which led to this remarkable achievement. He emphasised that these awards are a reflection to NTPC Bongaigaon’s commitment to excellence, community development, and innovative corporate communication and stakeholder practices.
