Shantiram Sarma, a resident of Gutibari, Balijuri under Biswanath sub-division breathed his last on Thursday in a private hospital at Guwahati due to prolonged illness. He was 63. A former ward member of Uttar Nagsankar GP, Sarma was closely associated with many socio-cultural organisations of the greater Balijuri area. His untimely demise was widely mourned here. Organisations and individuals paid rich tributes to the mortal remains at his residence. He leaves behind his wife, three sons along with a host of relatives.
