One with suspected heroin arrested

BOKAJAN, Jan 28: Bokajan Police Station and 155 Bn, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested one with suspected Heroin worth Rs 7 crore on midnight of Jan 27-28.

In an operation carried out the police and CRPF personnel a truck- AS 01 RC 0882 was intercepted on National Highway 39. The truck was thoroughly searched and a total of seventy plastic cases filled with Heroin worth Rs 7 crore was recovered from a secret chamber built in the truck. The contraband weight 745.74 grams.

In this regard, the police arrested the truck driver identified as Ramzan Ali, a resident of Nagaon.

In another successful recovery of drugs in Karbi Anglong the Khatkhati police arrested five with suspected heroin during naka checking on National Highway 39.

The recovery of heroin was made when a Scorpio SUV AS 06 AD 8818 was incepted and searched that was coming from Dimapur. Fifteen suspected heroin packets were found inside a woman’s bag along with cash Rs 1.82 lakh.

In this regard, the police arrested five persons including the driver of the vehicle, a man and four other women travelling in the vehicle. They have been identified as Chandrawati Kardong, Devilata Kardong, Kumari Kardong, Monika Mili Pegu, all from Dhemaji and driver Biswanath Doloy of Arunachal Pradesh. The weight of the seized heroin is 157.7 gms. The seized heroin was being taken from Dimapur to Dhemaji.
