DIPHU, Oct 7: The Government of Assam on Tuesday launched Orunodoi 3.0, its flagship welfare scheme, in Karbi Anglong, aiming to empower women and support underprivileged families.
The district-level programme was held at Langkung Habe Memorial Town Hall, Diphu, with Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member of KAAC, as chief guest.

Ronghang highlighted that while Karbi Anglong’s target was 91,500 beneficiaries, 1,06,877 applications were received, and 82,775 were found eligible.
Under the scheme, each beneficiary will receive Rs 1,250 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), along with an additional Rs 250 per month as LPG subsidy under Mukhyamantrir Sulav Indhan Asoni, bringing total monthly support to Rs 1,500.
The programme, organised by the District Administration and Diphu Municipal Board, covers seven development blocks and six municipal boards, reaching 571 rural and 103 urban areas.
Officials said the initiative is a major step toward strengthening women’s financial independence and ensuring inclusive development across Karbi Anglong and Assam.
