JAGIROAD, April 23: The Morigaon district administration is all set to conduct the second phase of the upcoming panchayat election on May 7.
There are 29 candidates contesting the second phase of the panchayat elections in Morigaon, while one candidate won unopposed. There are 177 candidates contesting in Anchalik Panchayats, 14 candidates winning unopposed and 1892 candidates contesting in Gaon Panchayats and 115 candidates winning unopposed.

According to the Morigaon District Election Branch, a total of eight candidates contested the Zilla Parishad constituency under Jagiroad Co-District. Similarly a total of 51 candidates contested the Anchalik Panchayat constituency and nine candidates won unopposed. A total of 574 candidates contested the gaon panchayats and 61 candidates won unopposed. There are 14 candidates contesting in the Zilla Parishad constituency under Laharighat Co-District. There are 89 candidates contesting in the Anchalik Panchayat and one candidate won unopposed. The total number of candidates contesting the gram panchayats in Lahorighat Co-District is 832 and 20 candidates won unopposed. Each candidate is campaigning door to door in the villages with their symbols and supporters.
