Pickup truck seized in Assam

BOKAJAN, Oct 21: The police in a routine checking carried out on NH 39 under Khatkhati police station came upon a stolen pickup truck bearing registration number AS01 KC 7243 and seized it.

While the police tried to stop the pickup, it sped away and in the process crashed through the police check barrier towards Dimapur, Nagaland. In a dramatic chase the police got into a hot pursuit but later found the vehicle abandoned at Lahorijan and the vehicle lifters fled the scene.

Preliminary investigation found that the vehicle was lifted from Noonmati in Guwahati. The vehicle is in the custody of Khatkhati police.
