Press Club Memorandum To KAAC CEM

DIPHU, March 16: The district press club of Karbi Anglong (DPCKA) led by its president, Diganta Teron and accompanied by vice president, David Hanse; assistant general secretary, Vivian Longki Rongpi and finance secretary, Arun Lekthe here submitted a memorandum to chief executive member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang for allocation of a specific annual budget to local print media for issuing of advertisements to only those local newspapers that are regularly published and to release advertisement bills timely by the concerned departments under the administrative control of KAAC to local media houses.

The memorandum said that KAAC should allocate a specific annual budget for local print media for the smooth maintenance of the media houses. Without verification, several newspapers that are irregular were getting advertisements from concerned departments and this should be checked.

The DPCKA also urged the KAAC authority for timely payments of newspaper bills to newspaper houses.
