Prominent social worker Kulendra Mohan Das passes away

TEZPUR, Dec 1: Kulendra Mohan Das, a noted social worker, writer and retired assistant director of Industry and Commerce, government of Assam and a resident of Milanpur Bamun Chuburi here passed away in Guwahati on Tuesday while he was under treatment. He was 62.
After his graduation, he joined as extension officer to the department of Industry and Commerce, government of Assam and later retired as assistant director of the department.
Being a sincere activist of cultural and literary field, he wrote several plays including ‘Swapna Bhanga’ and worked tirelessly for the upliftment and development of the society. Besides his cultural and social activities, he contributed his writings to numerous newspapers and magazines. His collection of articles entitled ‘Mor Lekha’ carries a number of thoughtful articles. He was associated with several socio-cultural, literary and educational organisations including Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Depota Girls High School, Dipota Kendriya Natya Mandir, Milan Bakori Raas Mahotsav Samiti.
He is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter, elder brother Dr Sailendra Mohan Das, a sister and a host of relatives.
