SIVASAGAR, April 30: Kanaklata Mohila Xangathan in association with Sivasagar Jila Mohila Samity felicitated several distinguished persons of Sivasagar on Sunday in the cultural evening held on the occasion of Bihu in Boarding Field.
The persons that received the felicitations were educationist and writer Dr Nirupoma Mahanta, educationist Dipali Chaliha, educationist and women activist Monica Saikia, cultural worker Jayashree Chaliha, Municipality chairman Mrinali Konwar, cultural worker Makhan Bora, writer Dipali Bhattacharjya Baruah, noted singer Mahendra Hazarika, stage director Rupak Bhunyan, educationist Dr. Nilakhi Phukan Borgohain, homeopathic doctor Kabita Sharma, journalists Manoj Kumar Borthakur, Bhaskarjyoti Das, M I Bora, Manoj Gogoi, Amrit Raj Bora, Himangshu Neog, musician Anjan Saikia , national badminton coach Kabir Bora and Rituraj Chetia, and two police officers
Nimaijan and Harmoti Hussori Dals performed hussori, folk dances from several groups, Â while Mahendra Hazarika, Prarthana Borthakur, Pranami Sarma, and Milan Mili presented popular songs to enliven the evening.
