Quick Bird distributes relief goods at Nalbari

GUWAHATI, June 27: Quick Bird Foundation, a Guwahati based non-governmental organisation on Monday distributed relief goods to the flood affected residents of the Nalbari district’s Barshimalu village under Barkhetri assembly constituency. Quick Bird Foundation’s Pritom Talukdar led the distribution programme with the help of the locals. Talukdar exclaimed that the village had been encountering acute shortage of food and other essential commodities ever since the entire village was inundated due to flood water.

Notably, seasonal floods have become an annual phenomenon for the residents of Barshimalu village. The Quick Bird Foundation on Monday urged the government of Assam to plug the crisis at the earliest. It also pressed the government to improve the sluice gate located adjacent to the village.
