DHUBRI, Aug 7: State Minister of Education, Ranuj Pegu, on Thursday inaugurated a newly constructed administrative building at Hatidhura College under the Golakganj Assembly constituency in Dhubri district.
The building was constructed at a cost of ₹1 crore, funded by the infrastructure development initiative of the Higher Education Department.
The facility is expected to boost administrative efficiency and improve overall academic functioning at the college.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Pegu reiterated the State Government’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and access across Assam.
He also highlighted the “Nijut Moina” scheme, under which financial assistance is being extended to students to reduce barriers to education and support continued learning.
The event was attended by the principal, faculty members, and students of the college.
Former Golakganj MLA Ashwini Roy Sarkar, senior BJP leader Banendra Kumar Musahari, and senior officials from the district administration were also present.
Established in 1990, Hatidhura College currently caters to over 1,100 students in the arts stream. Members of the local community expressed optimism that the addition of the new administrative block would significantly contribute to a more effective academic and operational environment on campus.
