Reception Committee Office inaugurated for Rabha Divas Celebration in Margherita

MARGHERITA, May 28: The stage is set for a vibrant celebration of Bishnu Prasad Rabha Divas, to be centrally hosted at the Margherita Xakha Xahitya Xabha. Organised by the Tinsukia District Xahitya Xabha and spearheaded by the Margherita Swarna Xakha Xahitya Xabha, the preparations are well underway, marked by the formal inauguration of the reception committee office on Wednesday.

The office was ceremoniously opened by eminent litterateur, poet, and writer Ranjit Dutta, whose esteemed presence added literary prestige and inspiration to the occasion.

The inaugural event witnessed the participation of key figures, including Arup Changmai, General Secretary of Tinsukia District Xahitya Xabha; Pabitra Borgohain, President of Margherita Xakha Xahitya Xabha; Dr. Ramen Hazarika, President of the Reception Committee; Sashidhar Shyam, Working President; Ashwini Gogoi, Chief Secretary; and other dedicated committee members.

The main celebration is scheduled for 20th June at the Margherita Xakha Xahitya Xabha premises. The day will commence with the ceremonial hoisting of the flag by Dr. Basanta Kumar Goswami, President of Asom Xahitya Xabha, setting the tone for a day rich in cultural and literary programs.

The event promises to be an enriching experience, featuring the participation of central committee members of Asom Xahitya Xabha and several other distinguished personalities, as announced by the reception committee.

In a heartwarming gesture, Dr. Ranjit Dutta donated three of his acclaimed books to the Margherita Xakha Xahitya Xabha library, along with a curated collection of additional books and a bookshelf, significantly enriching the literary resources of the organization.

The Bishnu Prasad Rabha Divas celebration in Margherita is poised to be a remarkable tribute to the iconic cultural figure, blending literature, art, and community spirit. “This will be a landmark event in honour of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha,” said Ashwini Gogoi, Chief Secretary of the reception committee.
