Results of Nagaon Zila Sahitya Sabha declared

NAGAON, Dec 26: The results of election conducted recently for new office bearers of Nagaon Zila Sahitya for the session 2025-2027 were declared in Nagaon on Thursday.

As per results, Dr Sarat Barkataki, a noted Assamese poet, essayist, academician and former journalist elected as the president of Nagaon Zila Sahitya Sabha while Mrinal Kumar Hazarika, former assistant secretary of the Asom Sahitya Sabha elected as vice president.

As per results, Dr Sarat Borkatoki bagged 35 votes while his opponent Benu Laskar secured only 4 votes.

Similarly, Mrinal Kumar Hazarika won the vice president post with 21 votes, defeating Pradip Saikia, who secured 16 votes.

Rajiv Kumar Hazarika emerged as the secretary with 28 votes, while his opponent Mintu Das, managed only 9 votes.

The results were officially announced at a meeting of the Nagaon Zila Sahitya Sabha and presided over by Thagit Mahanta, the president of Nagaon Zila Sahitya Sabha at its office Kamladevi Todi Bhavan.
