JORHAT, Aug 6: Asom Sena’s demand for revocation of the decision to include Hindi as a compulsory subject for the recruitment exam of ICFRE has come to fruition as the institution has withdrawn the subject from the syllabus.
The exams to be conducted for 7 posts are of lower division clerk in the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE)-Rain Forest Research Institute (RFRI), Jorhat.
Bijoy Shankar Bordoloi, chief convenor of Asom Sena, Central Committee, in a statement on Tuesday, stated that a delegation of the organisation led by him on August 1 met the ICFRE-RFRI director and submitted a memorandum seeking withdrawal of the decision.
Following the meeting, the concerned institute dropped Hindi as a compulsory subject from the syllabus of the proposed recruitment examination for division clerks.
Bordoloi also assured that it has always been a consistent demand of Asom Sena, AASU, and other organisations of Assam for having 100% recruitment to Grade III and IV posts of Central and semi-central Government jobs from indigenous youths of the state.
Notably, Asom Sena sought revocation of the decision of the ICFRE-RFRI authorities after the notification was released on July 23, 2024, comprising a revised syllabus.
