RTU and Lakhimpur Commerce College conclude FDP on SPSS data analysis

HOJAI, June 28: The one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on data analysis using SPSS, jointly organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Rabindranath Tagore University (RTU) and Lakhimpur Commerce College, Lakhimpur, concluded successfully at RTU on Friday.

The programme, held from June 24 to June 28, 2024, was inaugurated by Dr Utpal Phukan, director of IQAC, Rabindranath Tagore University. The event featured eminent resource persons, including Dr Dibyojyoti Bhattacharjee, professor of Statistics at Assam University, Silchar, and Dr Hemanta Saikia, assistant professor at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam.

Throughout the five-day programme, participants engaged in comprehensive sessions covering a wide range of topics essential for data analysis using SPSS. The curriculum included an introduction to SPSS, data management, data visualisation, cross-tabulation, correlation, hypothesis testing, and both parametric and non-parametric tests in SPSS, including ANOVA.

The sessions provided in-depth knowledge and practical insights, greatly benefiting the participants. The resource persons, Dr Bhattacharjee and Dr Saikia, were praised for their expertise and ability to clarify complex concepts, ensuring a thorough understanding of the topics covered.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the coordinators, Dr Mrinal Ghosh, assistant professor in Commerce at Rabindranath Tagore University, and Dr Bhairab Khakhalary, assistant professor in Management at Lakhimpur Commerce College. They expressed gratitude to all participants, resource persons, and the organising institutions for their contributions to the success of the event.
