School teacher arrested for sexual assault in Kharupetia

Dalgaon, May 18: A government school teacher has been sentenced to jail for behaving indecently towards a student of Diksha Academy in Kharupetia on Tuesday. It has come to notice when a video that was widely circulated on social media of a group of parents alleged the teacher of molesting a student of Diksha Academy. The teacher was identified as Dost Mohammad Shafi, a teacher from the area and owner of the Diksha Academy, Kharupetia and head teacher of No.2 Magurmari Uttarpara East Chuba Primary School under Dalgaon Revenue Circle. The police arrested the teacher after lodging a complaint at Kharupetia police station. The teacher was booked under Section 342/376/511/294/506 IPC RW Sec 10 of POCSO Act vide KPT PS Case No.117/22
