NAGAON, June 10: In light of the rising mercury levels and ongoing heatwave conditions, the Nagaon District Administration has approved the rescheduling of school timings with immediate effect. The decision, made in consultation with the District Commissioner, Inspector of Schools, and District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO), aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
In a notification issued today, Inspector of Schools Mridul Kr Nath directed all school heads—from Primary to Higher Secondary levels—to commence classes from 7:30 AM starting June 11, 2025, until further notice. The directive also instructs that morning assemblies be conducted indoors or within shaded areas instead of open grounds.
As per the revised schedule:
Lower Primary Schools will operate from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Middle/ME Schools from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM
High and Higher Secondary Schools from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
The revised timings are set to come into effect from Wednesday, June 11. Authorities have emphasized that the changes are in the best interest of students amid prevailing weather conditions.
