Guwahati, April 8: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) recruitment scam summoned 30 examination inspectors for statements on Monday.
The scam relates to the CCE 2013 exams where large-scale irregularities were discovered. The SIT was established following the commission report by retired Justice BK Sarma. At the time of this report, five of the summoned inspectors arrived at the Crime Investigation Department (CID) office.
These include Bipul Gogoi, Abhijit Bora, Bhupendra Talukdar, Anjan Sharma, and Jyotiraj Pathak. They are expected to scrutinise the contentious answer sheets. Earlier this year, the Assam Government submitted an affidavit to the Gauhati High Court about the APSC scam.
The affidavit reveals that five officials recruited through dishonest means have been arrested, while another 25 from the same batch have been suspended. An additional 42 officials are set to undergo departmental inquiry. These actions were taken based on the recommendations of the Justice (retd) Biplab Kumar Sarma commission report, as per the affidavit.
