Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital introduces trauma team for critical care

DEMOW, Aug 13: The Swargadeo Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital conducted a press meet on Saturday to unveil its latest initiative. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratisthan’s Swargadeo Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by ONGC, is located near Rajabari, close to Demow in Sivasagar district.

During the press meet, it was announced that the Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital has introduced a dedicated trauma team comprising experts in orthopaedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, rehabilitation, and intensive care. The primary objective of this team is to provide exceptional medical care and save lives during the critical ‘golden hours’ following traumatic incidents.

Supriya Dutta, from the administration management, welcomed the attendees and provided insights into the newly introduced emergency and trauma care team. She highlighted that the hospital has also established a neurosurgery department to further enhance its capabilities.

Sanjib Konwar, a staff member of the Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital, facilitated the press meet. Dr Gautam Das, the CEO of the hospital, emphasised the importance of delivering swift and specialised medical attention during the crucial golden hour after a traumatic event. This approach significantly increases the chances of successful recovery.

Dr Nirmal Chandra Chutia, a general surgery consultant at the hospital, shared that the hospital has successfully conducted over 1000 surgeries. He discussed the hospital’s commitment to providing high-quality medical care.

Dr Arijit Chakraborty, a neurosurgeon consultant, stressed the critical significance of brain trauma care. He explained that prompt actions, early brain surgeries, and specialised care are essential to saving lives and preventing long-term complications. Through a detailed powerpoint presentation, Dr Arijit Chakraborty illuminated the complexities of brain trauma care.

Dr Uday Arun Ranade, an orthopaedic surgeon, also delivered a presentation during the event. He shed light on the hospital’s orthopaedic services, elaborating on the advanced techniques and treatments available.

The program also featured the presence of patients who had successfully undergone treatment at the Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital. Their relatives shared their experiences and expressed gratitude towards the hospital and its medical staff for the care provided.
