Sivasagar Sanmilita Rangali Bihu Sanmilan to be held from May 8-10

SIVASAGAR, April 28: The Sivasagar Sanmilita Rongali Bihu Udjapan Samity has announced the 28th edition of its Rangali Bihu Sanmilan, set to take place at Boarding Field from May 8 to 10.

On Sunday, the Samity set up the lie-khuta for the event and conducted a brief Vedic puja at the site of the Bihu pandal, which was led by Suresh Borthakur, the Head Priest of Sivasagar Siva Doul.

The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Manoj Bhagawati, President of the Udjapon Samity, Sarat Hazarika, Secretary, and several advisers and community leaders such as Dr PP Chetia, Buddheswar Chutia, Mridul Chandra Phukan, and Zakir Hussain, among others.

The three-day celebration will kick off with the felicitation of 28 individuals from various fields for their contributions to society.

The opening day will also include flag hoisting and smriti-tarpan.

Other key attractions of the event include the inter-institutional Husori competition, Mou-kunwari, All Assam Bihuwoti Competition, Zeng-bihu competition, All Assam Quiz, the release of a souvenir, and cultural performances featuring renowned artists.

The Rangali Bihu Sanmilan is expected to be a vibrant celebration of Assamese culture, drawing large crowds and showcasing the region’s rich traditions.
