DIPHU, March 22: : As part of its Civic Action Programme 2022-23, the 20 Bn CRPF has installed 10 solar street lights in the village of Rongmirdan here in Karbi Anglong.

The solar street lights were inaugurated by the deputy commissioner of Karbi Anglong, Madhumita Bhagwati in a function which was presided over by the Commandant, Tilak Raj (2-I/c). The function was attended by Member of Autonomous Council (MAC), Tilottoma Hasnu; village headman Gandhiram Rongphar and officers and jawans of the 20 Bn CRPF and villagers.
The 20 Bn CRPF under the aegis of IG (Ops), Jorhat sector has been carrying out Civic Action Programme for the welfare and essential requirements of the poor and needy people in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong. Under the Civic Action Programme, the 20 Bn CRPF has been providing waiting sheds, resting sheds, toilet blocks, installation of borewell, small bridge and installation of solar street lights, free medical camp and others.
