Srimanta Sankaradev Vishwavidyalaya Observes International Day Of Happiness

NAGAON, March 21: The department of education, Mahapurush Srimanta Sankaradev Vishwavidyalaya, Nagaon in collaboration with its internal quality assurance cell observed the International Day of Happiness at SOS children village, Hojai on Monday last.

The theme of the celebration was ‘Be mindful, Be grateful and Be kind’ with the objectives to promote the idea of happiness and well being for all, especially among the children.

The event was hosted by Satanjiba Handique who introduced a host of activities that were planned to be accomplished during the day. Karabi Konwar as well as Papari Das gave an overview of the significance of the day and spoke for why it’s being observed globally.

Dr Tribeni Saikia, HoD, department of education, Mahapurush Srimanta Sankaradev Vishwavidyalaya also spoke on the importance of happiness and well being emphasizing on the need for positive attitude and a growth mindset to achieve happiness and success in life. Rajashree Neog delivered the vote of thanks during the programme.

The organisers also distributed small gifts among the participants as a token of appreciation during the celebration.

It’s pertinent to mention here that children as well as other participants enjoyed dancing together which apparently created a positive, well designed and cheerful environment leaving memorable moments of impacts among the children and other participants of the programme, a release stated.
