SIVASAGAR: Firebrand Bir Lachit Sena secretary Sringkhal Chaliha was arrested by Sivasagar Police today under Sec 384,352,426,270,295, 502,and 34 in case no 63/23 in connection with a case of spitting on the face of a businessman Ankur Kedia of BG Road Sivasagar on April 28. Kedia lodged an FIR only on May 1 on the basis of which Chaliha was arrested from his OhukanNagar residence today. He was produced in the CJM’ Court in the afternoon. Though he was granted bail, he had to be sent to judicial custody for the night as the Treasury office was closed and his lawyer could not deposit the bail amount.
